About T1 Rugby

Non-contact rugby brings all the excitement and skill of rugby without any tackling or contact elements. Players learn to run, pass, catch, and evade while scoring tries just like in traditional rugby, making it the perfect introduction to the sport for young players aged 5-12.

 

 

Information for players

  • What is T1 Rugby? 

    T1 Rugby is the new non-contact rugby format for teenagers and adults. Think rugby but without the tackle or breakdown! Played with 7 to 10 players, on half a regular size field. 

  • Who is T1 Rugby for? 

    T1 Rugby is a game for all, and can be played many ways to suit your teams ability – fast, slow, with kicks, or attacking space. The game suits all abilities and fitness levels and is offered in both mixed teams and women/girls only.

  • How to learn? 

    If you know how to play rugby you will know how to play T1 Rugby. The rules are the same without the contact. For new players, it is easy to pick up, with only a few rules and you’ll be taught by your teammates. 

  • How to play? 

    T1 Rugby is a more social version of rugby, but you can still show your competitive side. Join a club or school near you and give T1 a try.

     

  • What is the commitment level for T1 Rugby?

    Low–Medium

    Your commitment level is up to you. With no contact in the game you don’t need to condition your body, just rock up and play!
